The Simpson Center encourages faculty and graduate students to consult with Simpson Center staff in formulating proposals, particularly if a project does not fall into any of the established categories but does fulfill the broad goals of the Simpson Center. To schedule an appointment, please call 543.3920.

Please note that the Simpson Center does not review applications whose primary purpose is travel funding for individual research or conference participation. The Simpson Center also does not fund honoraria for UW faculty and graduate students for on-campus programs.

The director of the Simpson Center reserves the right, under unusual circumstances, to bring exceptional proposals to the Executive Board outside of the regular funding cycle.

Errata: Please note that proposal narratives for faculty and graduate student research fellowships are limited to 1,750 words (approximately six double-spaced pages), not 500 words as previously listed.   Posted guidelines have been corrected and updated in categories at the left: Faculty Research Fellowships, Graduate Research Fellowships, and Associate Professor Cross-disciplinary Initiative.
